Welcome

I am an astrophysicist, interested to study different aspects of astrophysics, cosmology, and fundamental physics using gravitational waves and electromagnetic waves as observational probes. I work in the interface of theory and data analysis to understand the imprints of cosmological & astrophysical phenomena from observations. I am a member of CMB-S4, LIGO/Virgo/KAGRA, LISA, and Vera Rubin Observatory. You can find the details about my work in the research section.

Here is the arXiv and NASA/ADS link to my publications.

Research

I work on data-driven astrophysics and cosmology using multi-frequency gravitational waves and electromagnetic waves to understand the history of the Universe and its building blocks.

A few key areas of my research are:
  • Astrophysical properties of GW sources
  • Cosmology with GW sources
  • Fundamental Physics using GW
  • Gravitational lensing of GW
  • Stochastic GW Background-- astrophysical and cosmological
  • Secondary CMB anisotropies
  • Search of Axions/Axion-like particles using multi-frequency observations
  • The epoch of cosmic reionization
  • You can find more details from my publications : arXiv and NASA/ADS

    Short-Bio

I am a Reader (Assistant Professor) at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research ( TIFR, Mumbai ) and the Principal Investigator of the research group < Data|Theory > Universe Lab from May 2022 which works in the field of Multi-Messenger Cosmology and Astrophysics. Before moving to TIFR, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Perimeter Institute . Prior to that, I was a GRAPPA fellow at the University of Amsterdam, Lagrange fellow at Institut D'Astrophysique De Paris and a Flatiron research fellow at Center for Computational Astrophysics, Flatiron Institute .

I received my Ph.D. in the year 2016 in astrophysics from IUCAA with the scholarship from CSIR-India under the supervision of Professor T. Souradeep. I did my Masters in Physics from Hyderabad Central University in the year 2011 and Bachelor in Science from Fergusson College , University of Pune in the year 2009.

    My complete CV

    < Data|Theory > Universe Lab

I am the Principal Investigator of this new research group at the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics , TIFR. The group works in the interface of theory and data analysis on a wide range of topics in cosmology and astrophysics using gravitational waves and electromagnetic waves as observational probes. We are a part of multiple international collaborations such as Cosmic Explorer, CMB-S4, LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA, LISA, and Vera Rubin Observatory. The research work includes developing theoretical frameworks, analysis of the data from the ongoing missions, and preparing statistical tools for the data analysis of upcoming missions in the frontier of multi-messenger cosmology and astrophysics.
